First look: Detroit Tigers unveil luxury Home Plate Club designs

The Detroit Tigers are sharing more details about their planned Home Plate Club at Comerica Park.

The luxury club is slated to open during the 2025 season and is part of millions of dollars in upgrades being made at the ballpark.

The Tigers will also replace close to 500 seats behind home plate in time for Opening Day, set for April 4.

Home Plate Club, with room for about 550 people, is billed as a luxury club for an all-inclusive fan experience.

Members get VIP parking passes that allow them to enter Comerica Park from a private entrance. The entrance features designs that showcase elements of the past, present and future of Detroit.

A Home Plate Club membership also comes with access to a full bar that includes beer, wine and liquor. Food options include a rotating menu of small dishes with local ingredients and some twists on classic ballpark food. Items include sushi charcuterie, small plates and a customizable dessert station. Home Plate Club members can partake before, during and after games.

The main club space includes private bathrooms and a climate-controlled environment that provides protection from inclement weather.

The team declined to specify pricing, but the Home Plate Club seats will be available as full-season packages. The team is taking $250 deposits at mlb.tickets.com.

The Home Plate Club is the latest of a series of upgrades made by the Ilitch organization, which earlier this year said it has invested nearly $30 million for renovations that include a giant new videoboard, new TVs throughout the concourse and an overhauled player clubhouse and training areas.

The Tigers have not detailed the cost of the project, though the team has said it is part of ongoing renovations to improve the fan and player experience — a directive handed down by team owner Chris Ilitch.
